Live Illustration
Looking for something fun to liven up your event?
Live portrait illustration is a great way to add a creative flair! Whether it’s a wedding, party, corporate or community event, live illustration offers a unique and memorable experience, as well as a personalised take-home artwork for guests.
I love creating live illustrations of people, capturing lots of colour and personality. I’m based in the Canberra region, but happy to discuss events requiring travel.
How it works
Each illustration takes me between 5-7 minutes, and is done on 300gsm A6 cardstock. I use a variety of different media, but mostly rely on my water-based markers and pencils.
There are two main live illustration methods I use:
Sit and sketch
For this method I work on a first-serve basis where people can line up to sit down while I sketch them in person. This works well for community events with a lot of people attending, and creates a fun interactive atmosphere.
Photos and sketch
For this method I take photos of all the guests when they arrive, and then sketch using the photos throughout the event. This means guests don’t have to wait in line, making it ideal for weddings and parties.
For events with a large number of guests I’m happy to finish extra portrait illustrations in the studio after the event to make sure everyone receives one.
